Meet the Strategic Noise Mapping Challenge

In preparation for the second round of strategic noise mapping in connection with the European Union’s Environmental Noise Directive 2002/49/EC, we invite you to join our new seminar on Strategic Noise Mapping Good Practice.

Description

This 2-day course introduces you to good practice in strategic noise mapping. The course is based around 2 documents:

• European Commission’s Working Group on the Assessment of Exposure to Noise "Good practice guide on strategic noise mapping”
• the Euronoise 2009 invited paper on “Good Practice in the Use of Noise Mapping Software” produced by the lecturers

The in-depth knowledge of the lecturers gives you a unique opportunity of getting insight and up to date experience in the process involved, good practice and tools available and in-depth information on the latest developments. The course will have a high focus on practical hands-on based around Predictor 7810 and Lima 7812, supported by theoretical lectures and case studies. There will also be time to discuss individual issues.

• To give good practice on strategic noise mapping, thus placing attendees in a better position to efficiently meet project deadlines and budgets
• To improve your use of noise calculation software through knowledge of standards, input data requirements and software calculation settings
• To give you hand-on experience
• To share experience about how others map noise including good practices and hints & tips

Prerequisites

Knowledge of fundamental acoustics.

For professionals involved in mapping environmental noise. For Environmental Impact Assessments, fulfilment of EU Directives, etc., e.g., Environmental Officers employed in national, regional and local authorities, in industry, and in infrastructure (e.g. airports, transport), and Consultants.
